
Hong Kong, 18 August 2015 – Park Island’s all-day beach-front café, Cafe Roma boasts a quietly majestic view of the Tsing Ma Bridge gears up for a fun-filled night of laughter this September with 6 comedians from Comedy.HK, who are coming all the way to Cafe Roma for one show.
Hosting for one-night only, before returning to the U.S. Gus Tate, made a comedic name for himself with Comedy Club China whilst in Beijing. Featuring two time finalist at the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition Nick Milnes as the night’s headliner, seasoned comedian Andrew Grant who has been a fixture of the Hong Kong comedy scene since his stand-up debut after moving to the city, and studies comedy from an academic perspective and once published a paper on the automated detection of sarcasm in low-context environments, and ex-Park Island native Sean Cain who never fails to find the funny-side of everyday living in Hong Kong. Performers with bilingual (Cantonese and English) experience include Canada-Hong Kong-raised Tonia Yim, who runs Hong Kong’s ONLY regular Cantonese comedy night, brings a true third-culture aspect to Hong Kong’s stages, and Andrew Chu debuted since 2007 growing up honing comedic talents as a kid intensively watching cartoons, reading comics and laughing so hard he would fall asleep.
